Sprinkle doesn’t dampen Oregon Jamboree crowd

Overcast skies and a slight sprinkle didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of more than 4,000 fans Friday who packed the first night of the Oregon Jamboree in Sweet Home.

Although Lorrie Morgan canceled her headline act on Thursday, “Asleep At The Wheel” proved a very popular replacement.

Veteran Marty Stuart took over the headline spot and showed why he has succeeded through decades in the highly competitive music industry.

Food booths were busy Friday and the new dance floor, constructed by students at Sweet Home High School, was a popular gathering spot.

Saturday’s lineup includes:

11 a.m.: Gates open

12 p.m.: Oregon State Finals of the True Value Country Countdown

1:30 p.m.: Traci Lynn and The Rubes

2:45 p.m.: Sons of the Desert

4:30 p.m.: Lila McCann

6:30 p.m.: Tracy Byrd
