Sprint PCS withdrew its application to site a cell tower off 18th Avenue last week.
Sprint was supposed to appear before the Planning Commission on Jan. 10 with further information as to why it could not use an existing water tower for its antennas. Sprint proposed building a new tower instead.
The Planning Commission deadlocked earlier last year in a 3-3 vote to approve the new tower.
