Linn County Parks and Recreation Director Brian Carroll,, served as guest starter for the men’s Sprint Triathlon Saturday morning at Lewis Creek Park for the men’s race while the women contestants wait their turn. Manning the mic is race director Blair Bronson, who founded the Best in the West Triathlon event as a student at Oregon State University four years ago. This year, 550 athletes competed in five different events, ranging from a children’s Splash ’n’ Dash to a Half-Ironman. For more on the event, see story
