Stayton 54, Sweet Home 31
Stayton defeated the girls basketball team 54-31 on Feb. 7 on the road.
?They?re a really good basketball team,? Coach Jason Gorham said. ?And that night, they were shooting the ball really well.
?Tabby Trahan, against Stayton, shot the ball really well.?
Trahan hit two threes in the first quarter to keep the Huskies in the game, but Stayton began pulling away to lead 15-8 at the end of the first. Stayton led 33-14 at halftime and 47-22 at the end of the third.
Trahan led Husky scoring with 10 points. Breanne Messmer and Sara Brcoard added six each; Nicki Aerni, five; Michelle Aerni, two; and Hannah Swanson, two.
Natasha Crisman led Stayton with 16 points, and Courtney Cremer added 11.
Sisters 47, Sweet Home 26
Sisters defeated the Huskies 47-26 at Sisters on Friday.
?We were missing a couple of players (Messmer and Olivia Lake),? Gorham said. ?We were a little short, and second quarter, I think they were able to take advantage of us being short.?
Sisters led 8-5 after the first quarter but built a huge lead in the second, 29-13, on its transition game.
?The kids ballted really hard,? Gorham said. ?They played hard.?
Sisters led 43-20 after the third quarter.
Swanson led the Huskies with seven points. Trahan added six; Michelle Aerni, five; Brocard, four; Ashley Bertucci, two; and Nicki Aerni, two.
Katie Hughes led Sisters with 10 points. Emily Van Blaricum added eight.
