Still getting over awards surprise


To say I was surprised about receiving the Citizen of the Year Award is an understatement.

I always thought that the people who are on the beautification groups or the economic development teams were the people who received this kind of award. When I expressed that thought to my husband, he reminded me that the Manna meal and the other things that I participate in serve a lot of people, and that those people count too!

An advantage of the real Oscars is the nominees have a chance to prepare a speech. I was so unbelieving I don’t remember what I said. I hope that I said “thank you.” If I didn’t, please believe that I am very honored and validated.

And yes, Thank You.
