Students at Sweet Home High School faced off in the Battle for the Sexes last week to raise funds for cancer prevention and have some fun doing it. After two weeks of competitions between the boys and the girls, representatives of the boys got cream pies in the face after the girls beat them in a two-week-long fund-raising series of competitions. The boys raised money for prostate cancer while the girls collected funds for breast cancer through a series of efforts that included collecting pop cans, a coin drive, movie night at the Sweet Home pool, ticket sales for a Valentines’ Day dance and doing lots of games. The total raised was $1,153, as indicated on the check in the photo.
