Sweet Home 3

Cascade hit Sweet Home harder in the second game, winning 8-3.

“We really struggled with our pitching in the first two innings,” Coach Tow said. “Unfortunately, they scored enough runs in those innings to win the game. Brent Smith came in to pitch in the second inning and didn’t give up a bit the entire game. He struck out seven in four and two-thirds innings and looked very sharp. We just couldn’t come up with many runs, and their defense played well.”

At bats, Joe Rosa went 2-4. Phillips went 1-1, and Cliver went 1-3.

In previous games, the Huskies defeated Newport 7-1 on June 7, Stayton 8-3 on June 4, Stayton 5-1 on May 30 and lost to Newport 7-5 in 10 innings on May 29.
