Central 15, 3
Sweet Home 2, 2
The Huskies lost a doubleheader 15-2 and 3-2 to Central at home on Friday night.
“We got a few hits in this one, but they hit the ball pretty hard and we made quite a few defensive mistakes,” Coach Dan Tow said of the first game. “Mark Lewis has been swinging the bat well, and Brian Lindsay has been doing a nice job as well.”
Ronnie Garcia was the losing pitcher. McElravy was the winning pitcher.
At bats, Lewis went 2-3, and Lindsay went 2-3 with a double. Garcia and Carey Hintze went 1-3. Thomas Rosa went 1-2, and Matt Morneault went 1-1.
The second game “was much more competitive than the first,” Coach Tow said. Cody Miller only gave up three hits, and we did a much better job on defense. Mark Lewis continues tohit the ball well. These games are good experience for those guys taking advantage of an opportunity to play.
“We had a good chance to win this one in the seventh. We loaded the bases, but couldn’t knock in the run. Nevertheless, it was a well-played ball game.”
Winning pitcher was Michaels.
At bats, Lewis went 2-4. Joe Rosa went 1-2. Thoms Rosa had a double, and Garcia hit a single.
The Huskies defeated Scio 9-4 earlier in the week.
