Participation in the Sweet Home Public Library’s summer reading program was up this year.
Library Manager Rose Peda isn’t exactly sure why, but it’s possible that multiple levels of outreach resulted in total of 275 youngsters who participated.
“(I went to ) school librarians and asked them if they could get the word out,” Peda said.
Friends of the Library members went around town and through neighborhoods, she added.
