Supt.’s exit won’t solve problems

Editor:

I have resided in the Sweet Home area since 1951 and feel I have some knowledge of this area.

After reading the Dec. 31 article stating that the schools superintendent had stepped down, I was in total agreement but I must also mention that his departure will not solve the problems within the school district.

I will mention only a few problems which, in my opinion, should be solved immediately.

Return to the five-day school week.

Return common sense instead of the Common Core garbage.

The School Board needs to step up and do a much better job of directing the educational system.

“More money” is always the cry we hear from all these fearless leaders. Folks, I truly believe if they would only spend wisely what we have, things would be OK.
