Susan G. Patterson, 46, of Sweet Home died Nov. 4, 2007.
She was born Feb. 16, 1961 in Brownsville to Joseph Nathan and Katherine Theresa (Miller) Thornton.
During her life she lived in Yucca Valley, Calif., Black Meadow Landing, Ark. and in Sweet Home. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW.
Mrs. Patterson liked to sing and go rock hunting. She enjoyed driving in the woods with the heater on, the windows down and the music up. She loved being with her grandkids.
She is survived by one daughter, Julie Thornton of Sweet Home; two sons, Keith and Mathew Harkey, both of Sweet Home; ex-husband and forever friend Dave Patterson; three step-daughters, Tammy Patterson of Washington, Teresa Patterson of Alaska and Amanda Johnson of Salem, three grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Emery of Bend and Lisa Thornton of Vancouver, Wash.; and three brothers, Willie Thornton of Portland, Ward Thornton of Sweet Home and Thomas Thornton of Portland.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Nathan Thornton; mother, Katherine Theresa Miller; and her son, Richard Harkey.
A memorial service was held Nov. 10 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel with a potluck gathering at the VFW following the service. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
