Susie Grayce Wilson, 89, of Sweet Home died Sept. 16, 2007. She was born Feb. 23, 1918 in Oxnard, Calif., to Tilden B. Tucker and Susie V. (Elliott) Tucker.
She attended school in Oxnard and was involved in sports, earning a letter in tennis. Her interest in exercise continued all her life and she was active into her mid-80s, doing yard work and walking the treadmill.
She married and was later divorced from Harold E. Ranney. She married W.C. (Chuck) Wilson in 1948. They lived in Ventura, Calif., until 1977 when her doctor advised moving to Oregon after a bout with melanoma.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jim Walker of Brownsville; brother, Verne K. Tucker; sister, Jean Bell of California; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Wilson; son, William A. Ranney; brother, T. Emerson Tucker; and sister Helen E. Hines.
At her request, there will be no services. There will be a gathering of family and friends in the near future. For information, please call Joyce.
