A Pacific Power and Light crew works Friday morning, March 25, to replace a power pole sheared off by a car, right, that ran off Highway 228 between Valley View and Greenville roads early that morning. Rescue personnel, dispatched at 4:09 a.m., arrived to find the driver had apparently fled. The car took out a section of fence, left downed powerlines on the roadway and caused a power outage in the area that lasted until nearly noon, a local resident said. Sheriff’s Lt. Michelle Duncan said Tuesday morning that the incident was still being investigated and she had no names to release.
