Former Sweet Home residents graduated from a number of colleges and universities across the nation this spring.
Jacob Perry was one of 627 candidates for degrees presented during Linfield College spring commencement exercises May 31 in the Oak Grove. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology.
Chelsea Rhea Jackson of Cascadia was among Bowdoin College graduates at the 204th commencement exercises on May 23. She graduated with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology.
Former Sweet Home resident Nathan Snyder was among the graduates June 13 at Oregon State University.
He and his wife Luisa both earned degrees in biology with honors.
A 2003 graduate of Sweet Home High School, he is the son of Robert and Candice Snyder. Luisa Synder is a native of Antigua, Guatemala. The couple were married in Antigua in 2004 and moved to Philomath.
They have both been accepted into the College of Dental Medicine at Western University in Pomona, Calif. After they earn their doctoral degrees in dentistry, they hope to return to the Willamette Valley.
Stephanie Nicole Emmert of Sweet Home was among 118 students recently awarded the doctor of optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn.
A 2005 graduate of Oregon State University in Corvallis and East Linn Christian Academy in Lebanon, Emmert is the daughter of Arlen and Cathy Emmert, also of Sweet Home.
