Sweet Home Elks donate to schools

MEMBERS OF THE SWEET HOME ELKS LODGE present a variety of supplies to School District 55 counselors and administrators for each school in the district. The Elks filled the supplies based on wish lists from each school. They included shoes, jackets and classroom supplies. The Elks paid for the donations with $4,000 from two separate Elks grants. At the beginning of the school year, they hosted a back-to-school carnival at the lodge, where children played games competing for prizes for their schools, ate hot dogs and had fun .The remaining supplies were distributed to district officials in the district boardroom on Oct. 28. “It’s very much appreciated,” said Supt.
