Sweet Home police arrested one man in connection with a search warrant on Westwood Avenue on Sept. 22.
At approximately 7 a.m., the Sweet Home Police Department, with assistance from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Forest Service K-9 officer and the Lebanon Police Department served a narcotics-related search warrant at 1418 Westwood Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found two adult males and two elderly females on the property, said Police Chief Jeff Lynn. During the investigation detectives seized evidence of ongoing methamphetamine use, drug paraphernalia and two firearms from the residence.
James Adell Brown Sr., 38, was arrested on an outstanding Linn County Circuit Court warrant for fail to appear on a charge of distribution of methamphetamine, which stemmed from a search warrant served at the same residence in July 2014.
Brown also had an outstanding warramt issued by the Sweet Home Municipal Court for failure to appear on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine in connection to the Sept. 22 search warrant.
Brown’s mother and her sister, who had moved in just a few weeks earlier to help care for his mother, were advised of the activity and given advice on how to prevent further criminal activity from occurring from within the residence, Lynn said.
The investigation was initiated by continued ongoing complaints regarding frequent and suspicious traffic coming and going from the residence.
Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call SHPD Detective Cyndi Pichardo at (541) 367-5181.
