A Sweet Home man was killed early Thursday morning in a single-car crash on Highway 20 just east of Sweet Home.
At approximately 12:45 a.m. a white Mazda Protégé, driven by Theodore Simeral, 54, of Sweet Home, was traveling westbound on Highway 20 near milepost 34.
The vehicle left its lane for unknown reasons and struck the guardrail on the north side of the roadway, according to Oregon State Police. Simeral was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
The investigation is continuing. The Albany office of the Oregon State Police was assisted at the scene by Oregon Department of Transportation and the Sweet Home Police Department.
