Sweet Home man stabbed in fight

A Sweet Home man is recovering from “life-threatening” stab wounds allegedly suffered during a fight with a friend, Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley said Tuesday.

Riley said deputies responded Monday, Jan. 26, at 8:10 p.m. to a reported stabbing at a residence on River Drive in Lebanon.

Their investigation revealed that Sean David McKee, 26, of Lebanon had been involved in an altercation with a friend, Anthony Allen Ensley, 32, of Sweet Home, Riley said.

During the altercation, McKee stabbed Ensley several times with a folding pocket knife that contained a 4-inch blade. Ensley, who was not armed during the altercation, received life threatening stab wounds to his neck and back of the skull, he said.

Ensley was transported to Lebanon Community Hospital and later transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, where he was listed in stable condition.

Also injured during the altercation was Karen Mae McKee, 48, of Lebanon. She is the mother of Sean McKee and the homeowner of the residence where this occurred. She received numerous minor injuries and superficial stab wounds, Riley said.

Karen McKee was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Lebanon Fire Department for her injuries.

Sean McKee was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was lodged for attempted murder, assault in the first degree, and assault in the second degree.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing as to a motive for the assault.
