Sixteen new teachers started the school year in the Sweet Home School District this week.
• Joel Aplebaum, who will teach special education and Basic Life Skills at Sweet Home Junior High, is from Sweet Home. He holds a master of arts degree.
• Tim Faulconer, math at SHJH, is a new teacher from Sweet Home. He holds a master of arts degree.
• Christopher Hartman, advanced math at Sweet Home High School, brings two years of experience. He is from Monmouth. He holds a bachelor of arts degree.
• Hailey Hummer, third grade at Foster Elementary School, has one year of experience and holds a bachelor of arts degree. She is from Sweet Home.
• Susan Johnson, special education at SHHS, holds a bachelor of arts degree. She comes to Sweet Home from Arizona.
• Lisa Malabago, counselor at SHHS, has 18 years of experience and holds a master of arts degree. She comes to Sweet Home from Nevada.
• Blake Manley, natural resources career and technical education at SHHS, holds a bachelor’s degree. He has eight years experience and is from Cove.
• Killian Maxwell, math at SHHS, is from Newberg and is a new teacher. He holds a bachelor’s degree.
• Nathan McLacklain, media arts at SHJH, is a new teacher. He comes to Sweet Home from Corvallis and holds a bachelor’s degree.
• Shannon Naylor, Title I at Oak Heights, is from Corvallis. Naylor is a new teacher with a bachelor of arts degree.
• Harrison Neal, chemistry and physical science at SHHS, is a new teacher. He has a bachelor of arts degree and is from Corvallis.
• Melinda Stocking, counselor at Holley, has two years of experience and has a bachelor of arts degree. She is from Lebanon.
• Julia Weist is a new counselor at SHHS. She holds a master of arts degree and is from Sweet Home.
• Theo White, special education at SHHS, is a new teacher from Ashland. He has a master of arts degree.
• Nathan Whitfield, special education and Basic Life Skills at SHHS, is a new teacher. He holds a bachelor of arts degree and is from Sweet Home.
