— Qi Gong: Qi Gong (tai chi) will resume the first week of July. Class is at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Qi Gong is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching.

It is low-impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. In fact, because qi gong is a low-impact exercise, it may be especially suitable if you’re an older adult who otherwise may not exercise. Come, join us!

Participation costs $3/month.

— Seniors And Law Enforcement Together: S.A.L.T. meets here at the center on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p.m., right after lunch. Join us with your questions and bring your concerns about things happening in your community.

— Exercise: Everyone is welcome to join our group of seniors who meet at the center three mornings a week at 8:30 a.m. to participate in some light exercise and stretches.

Those participating look forward to that scheduled time set aside to do something good for themselves – taking care of their body, mind and soul. It’s a great time to think clearly, breathe deeply or just relax mentally. It is important to remember that exercise increases our mental acuity!

We hope to see you at the center on Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings. Participation costs $5/month.

— “Knit, Crochet, and Stitch Away!” – Mondays, 10 a.m. to noon: Bring your own handwork and join the fun! All levels of experience welcome – beginners to experts! Or come and learn a new stitch or pattern.

— Jolly Stitchers: This is an independent quilting group that meets from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays each week at the Senior Center. They are looking for new quilters.

If you have never quilted, but would like to learn, this is your opportunity. They have ‘practice’ pieces just for that purpose. This is an art that our quilters would love to share.

— Painters/Papercrafts Group: Our friendly group of artists meets each Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. They get together to share their latest creations and ideas.

If painting is your interest, bring your own supplies and join in.

If your interest is card making or other papercraft, bring your projects, materials and tools and work on them while you enjoy the company of other crafters.

Participation costs $1 each Wednesday.

— Pony Tail Canasta: Come join this group for a couple hours of fun on Wednesday afternoons from 12:30 to 4 p.m.
