Sweet Home finished third in the state Senior American (grades 7-8) tournament held Friday through Sunday in Oregon City. The team also won the Sportsmanship Award. The team beat Roosevelt 12-8 but lost to North Marion 18-11 Friday. It fought its way back with a 16-3 win over Wilsonville and a 3½-hour game, winning 29-18, against Banks Saturday before losing 11-10 to North Marion Sunday to place third.
