Sweet Home teen cited in Hwy. 228 crash

A Sweet Home teen was cited Saturday, Oct. 23, for failing to stop as he emerged from a driveway and his vehicle was struck by another car on Hwy. 228 near Rowell Hill Road.

Oregon State Police responded to a report of the crash at 7:13 p.m. According to an OSP report, Douglas Duane Villines, 56, of Crawfordsville, was traveling westbound on Highway 228, near Milepost 19, when a passenger vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male juvenile of Sweet Home, who was not identified, pulled out in front of him.

No one was injured in the crash, police said. The vehicles were towed.
