Sweet Home teen dies in Highway 20 crash

A Sweet Home teen died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 19, in a rollover crash east of Foster Lake, Oregon State Police said.

OSP troopers and emergency personnel responded at about 4:18 p.m. to the report of a single motor-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near milepost 34, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that 18-year-old Jasper June Keeney was traveling eastbound in white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when she lost control around a curve and rolled into the eastbound ditch. The Silverado came to rest on its top.

Keeney suffered fatal injuries, police said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 20 was closed for 4½ hours following the crash.

OSP was assisted at the scene by the Sweet Home Fire District and Oregon Department of Transportation.
