The Sweet Home Volleyball Club’s 14-and-under team won a 48-team tournament held Feb. 11-13 in Springfield. In front, from left, are Madi Housen, Graci Zanona, Baiolee Hartsook and Emily Brown. Sweet Home was 8-1 in the tournament, beating Basin Liberty of Klamath Falls 25-7 and 25-15 and OVA (its 14-3 team) of Bend 25-7 and 25-7 then losing to Portland Green 22-25 and 18-25 Feb. 11. Sweet Home won every match afterward, beating Unity of Creswell 25-2 and 25-17, PDX 25-18 and 25-10 and OVA (its 14-1 team) of Bend 25-14, 18-25 and 15-11 Feb. 12. On Feb. 13, Sweet Home defeated the Portland Green 25-16 and 25-10, The Factory of Portland 25-20 and 25-16 and OVA Bend (14-1) 26-24 and 25-22. Teams traveled from across the western region, including one team from Oahu, Hawaii.
