National Night Out this year was the first event to be held on 13th Avenue between Long and Main streets, a location that was termed by one city design firm as “Festival Street.”
Organizer Sean Morgan said the turnout was “smashing.” He credited Jennifer Gaspard and city staffer Angela Clegg with planning the event, the first in seven years.
Morgan said it was held later in the month than most, which are held on the first Tuesday of August, because of the Oregon Jamboree.
