Swift-water training

Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District volunteers work on their swift-water rescue skills Thursday evening, June 23, off Northside Park. In these photos, contributed by reader Patty Oday, volunteers drill with throw bags (life preservers) with a SHFAD boat monitoring the situation, as there were fishermen in the area, and ferrying swimmers decked out in dry suits and life vests, from downriver.
