Sweet Home swimmers from the Swim Club participated in championship meets within Oregon, as well as in Arizona and Utah.
RJ Abbott participated in the 2024 Western Zone Short Course Senior Zones in Saint George, Utah, on April 4-6. He swam the 200 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle. Finishing his best event in the 100 Breaststroke, Abbott placed 81st.
Kirsten Sautel participated in the 2024 Speedo Sectionals in Phoenix, Ariz. on March 21-24. She swam the 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 100 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle. Finishing her best event in the 100 Breaststroke, she placed 33rd.
From Feb. 29 to March 3, the Swim Club participated in the 2024 OSI Senior Region XII Arena Short Course Championships in Beaverton. The results are:
Arman Marble– Placed 53rd in the 500 Freestyle, 124th in the 100 Backstroke, 121st in the 200 Freestyle, 86th in the 200 Backstroke, and 30th in the 1650 Freestyle.
RJ Abbott – Placed 69th in the 100 Butterfly, 69th in the 50 Freestyle, 45th in the 100 Breaststroke, 24th in the 200 Freestyle, and 41st in the 100 Freestyle.
Shayne Schuster – Placed 51st in the 200 Breaststroke, 78th in the 100 Breaststroke, 125th in the 100 Backstroke, 115th in the 200 Freestyle, 161st in the 100 Freestyle, and 103rd in the 200 Individual Medley.
Kirsten Sautel – Placed 19th in the 200 Breaststroke, 61st in the 50 Freestyle, 9th in the 100 Breaststroke, 52nd in the 100 Backstroke, and 52nd in the 100 Freestyle.
Payton Brookfield – Placed 70th in the 100 Butterfly.
SHSC also swam in four relays. RJ Abbott, Arman Marble, Shayne Schuster and Grayson Savri swam on the boys team, placing 39th in the 200 Freestyle, and 35th on the 200 Medley. In mixed relays, Arman Marble, Kirsten Sautel, Payton Brookfield and RJ Abbott placed 18th in the 200 Mixed Medley, while Kirsten Sautel, Shayne Schuster, Payton Brookfield and RJ Abbott placed 22nd in the 200 Mixed Freestyle.
Grayson Savri participated in the 2024 Arena Short Course (ages) 11-14 State Championships in Corvallis on Feb. 22-25. He placed 16th in the 200 Backstroke, 23rd in the 200 Individual Medley, 26th in the 500 Freestyle, and 23rd in the 100 Backstroke.
The Swim Club participated in the 2024 Arena Short Course 10&U State Championships in Springfield on Feb. 17-18. Results are:
Harlow Gray – Placed 58th in the 25 Backstroke, and 45th in the 25 Freestyle.
Kaylee Sevier – Placed 21st in the 50 Breaststroke, 28th in the 100 Individual Medley, 24th in the 50 Freestyle, and 23rd in the 100 Freestyle.
Ryker Huenergardt – Placed 24th in the 200 Freestyle, 22nd in the 50 Breaststroke, 16th in the 100 Butterfly, 17th in the 200 Individual Medley, 13th in the 50 Butterfly, and 24th in the 100 Breaststroke.
