Sylvester Anton Tenbusch, 87, of Sweet Home died May 12, 2011.

He was born May 8, 1924 in Wessington, S.D. to Charles and Elizabeth (Wuestewald) Tenbusch.

He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. He married Violet Foster Sept. 8, 1945 in Liverpool, England.

Mr. Tenbusch moved to Fall City in 1947. He worked as a logger, a commercial fisherman on the Oregon Coast for many years, as a mill worker, cut firewood, planted trees – he was a Jack of all trades.

He loved hunting, fishing, camping, cards and family get-togethers.

Mr. Tenbusch is survived by his children, Joe, Ken, John and Richard Tenbusch, and daughter Katrina Marcks, all of Sweet Home, Bob Tenbusch of Texas, Steve Tenbusch of Nebraska, Jeff and Lonnie Tenbusch of Lebanon, and Violet Green of California; 28-plus grandchildren; 30-plus great-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his wife Violet in 1991; and grandsons Baby Boy Green in 1991 and Christopher Parker in 2010.

Funeral services were held May 17 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, with final burial with military honors at Gilliland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to Relay for Life in care of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, 1443 Long St., Sweet Home, OR 97386.
