Tamara “Tammi” Ann Taylor Gourley, 38, of Corvallis, died Sept. 3, 2008 at home.
She attended Oregon State University, majoring in geology and planned a career with National Parks and Recreation. She embraced nature, loving animals and photographing wildlife. She shared this love of nature with her children by taking trips to see tide pools and lava beds; fish hatcheries and wildlife parks.
Mrs. Gourley was a dedicated parent who took great pride and found much joy in being a nurturing mother. She had a generous heart and opened her home to host foreign exchange students. She enjoyed learning about their unique cultures.
She embodied all the qualities of an idea wife, mother daughter, and friend.
She is survived by her parents, John and Linda Taylor; her former spouse, Robert Gourley; siblings Brian, Dana, Beth, Sharon, John, Amy and Michael; and five devoted children: Ashley Rene (16), Jessica (14), Robert Jack (12). Nathaniel Taylor (10) and Kaitlyn Tamara (8).
Funeral services were held Sept. 6 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home, with burial at Gilliland Cemetery.
