College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Northwest medical student Heather Wheeler helps Foster School kindergartener Aleigha Smith try out a stethoscope during a visit to the school on Oct. 11. Wheeler was joined by students Sam Wasueda and Kaori Morimoto in Michelle Moreland’s classroom to give the children a taste of what it’s like to a be a doctor. “It’s mostly just fun for the kids,” Wheeler said, but it was also meant to promote a mini-medical school that will be held in the spring for students of all ages by the COMP-NW medical school in Lebanon. Details will be published as they become available.
