Terrence “Terry” Kevin Shea, 65, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 27, 2022, from fungal meningitis, a rare complication from cancer treatments.
To his family he was a bit of a superhero because he beat cancer 19 times.
Mr. Shea loved camping with his family, lazy rivers, moonlight movies, and reading. He also enjoyed bowling, skiing, and anything outdoors.
He was honored with an outstanding student award while getting his associate’s degree at Lane Community College.
He was honored as Who’s Who Among University Students while earning his bachelor degree at Oregon State University.
As a Jehovah’s Witness, Mr. Shea loved telling his neighbors that God has a name and it is Jehovah. He helped with parking and security at conventions and assemblies. He worked on the Regional Building Committee and with Disaster Relief, always ready to assist his fellow neighbor.
He also volunteered at Fair Share Gleaners, gathering and distributing food to those in need.
He was a Sweet Home resident for 20 years. He was busy in the community and will be missed.
Mr. Shea was married to his beloved wife, Regina, for 47 years. They had two daughters, Brandie, 46, and Misty, 40, and five grandchildren.
