Dick Powell, OSU forester and director of Education for Starker Forests, will be the speaker at the Thurd Force for Forestry noon luncheon on June 18 at Bing’s Kitchen, 2416 South Santiam Hwy.
Powell wil share his experiences in reaching school children and the general public through daily tours. The Wednesday Starker Tours, set up three years ago, reach 1,500 to 2,000 participants per year. Other means of reaching the public, such as video tapes, forestry pamphlets and special organized tours, will be explored.
All meetings of the TFF are open to the public. The cost of the no-host lunch is $6.60. For reservations, persons may contact TFF President Bert Udell at 258-6643. Walk-ins are welcome.
