I want to give a huge thank you to the community of Sweet Home.
On Sunday, Nov. 13, we had soldiers return home from Iraq. It was incredible, the crowd the guys saw while going through Sweet Home. There were five soldiers on that bus that are from Sweet Home, and they were very proud to live in a community that was so supportive.
On behalf of the Troop F Family Program out of Lebanon, I would like to say thank you to all the people in this community who helped make town look nice. Jami Lynn at Sweet Home Florist was kind enough to make the yellow ribbons that hung on the light poles down the center of Main Street and the yellow ribbons that hung in my yard.
A big thank you to Craig Martin, city manager, for making it possible to have those yellow ribbons hung. Carla Claasen from the Chamber of Commerce, you were a huge help. Thank you, so much.
Thank you to Roger’s Floral for donating some yellow ribbon. Thank you to the churches here in Sweet Home that put it out to their members on that Sunday.
Thank you to the VFW for donating funds to the family program for our welcome-home celebration.
Wow! Mr. Nichols and the fifth-period wood shop class are awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time to make the wood yellow ribbons that were displayed on the telephone poles in Lebanon. They made enough signs to have one for every single soldier deployed to Iraq from the Lebanon unit. Everyone loved them.
Everyone who put the “Welcome Home Troops” signs in your yards down the streets from Foster to Lebanon, thank you. Every single soldier on that bus and in the cars following that bus was very thankful and amazed to see such a great community.
We all appreciate your support.
A big thank you to everyone. You have all been supportive whether you bought magnets, yard signs, support our troops cards or even made a simple donation. Every little bit helped. Every single prayer said was definitely heard, and that’s what kept our soldiers safe.
Our one fallen soldier, Kevin Davis, will always be missed. Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Again, thank you for everything.
