The first two weeks of October celebrate National Nurse Midwifery Week and National Physician Assistant Week, giving those of us in health care, as well as the community at large, an opportunity to specially recognize these fine professions.
Physician assistants provide health care services under the supervision of an attending physician. They take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret lab tests and X-rays, make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
