Editor:
I am hoping to reach an angel who helped me when my Honda died on Highway 20 just east of Albany. My car was in the right-hand lane and a large pickup truck was behind me. I got out of the car and went back to the truck and told the lady my car died. She immediately said she would help me.
She called Power Honda and AA Towing. She insisted on not leaving until the tow truck came. She said, “I am big and the traffic can see me, whereas it could not see your little car.”
Traffic backed up immediately, but she kept me calm. No one else stopped to offer to push my car to the side of the road.
In our conversation, she said her name was Laurel and that she recently moved from Maryland to the Crawfordsville area near Sweet Home.
I am hoping she will see this letter and know how truly thankful this 81-year-old lady is for her wonderful compassion.
There are angels.
