Thanks for help in building repair

Editor:

The congregation of Sweet Home Methodist Church extends its thanks to the people of the community for their financial support and for cheering us on as we repaired the steeple of our landmark building. What a great photo on the cover of the paper. Stutzman and Kropf have finished the work, and we only need $1,000.

In addition many of you have responded generously by donating warm clothing, blankets and outerwear to John J. Doe’s Closet. This program makes it easy for people in need to get warm things when they come to Manna, the free meal on Fridays at 5 p.m. Our congregation ensures that this meal, a program of Sweet Home Emergency Ministries, happens each week.

We also are celebrating that we recently received a grant of $4,000 from the Meyer Memorial Trust to replace the stoves in our kitchen so we can prepare meals more efficiently. Thanks to all who help prepare and serve this meal. Additional volunteers are always welcome. Any who are in need of a free meal are invited to eat with us on Fridays.
