Thanks for help with egg hunt

Editor:

As a volunteer for the Neighborhood Watch here at Mountain Shadows Mobile Home Park, I have for the past three years headed up an Easter egg hunt for the children of our community.

Once again, this year’s hunt was a complete success because of all the wonderful donations by the local businesses of our community sponsoring in-community events, such as Safeway, Thriftway, Oregon Prospecting and Rita’s Relics, Periwinkle Provisions, Santiam Feed and Garden, A&W, Dairy Queen, Figaro’s Pizza, Rio Theater, Sweet Home Community Pool, Sweet Home Lanes, Video Update and our own neighbors and community residents. They donated their time, gifts and financial support for one cause: the children.

The smiles, joy and laughter on the faces of not only the children but the adults too are ones that go down in the history of our lives.

I am also thankful for the unexpected donation of pony rides provided by one of our residents.

My family and I moved here almost five years ago from a place just outside of Seattle. I grew up in a small town and was instantly touched by how “neighborly” people are here in Sweet Home. To this day, I love how this community has heart and soul.
