Thanks for support during election

Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who wrote my name in on their ballot for the Foster position on the Sweet Home School Board.

I also want to eliminate any confusion there is around some things that may have been written. I attended the Sweet Home School Board Meeting on May 14 and withdrew my name from the temporary position for the Foster Seat. There were only two applicants (Mr. Fassler and myself). That position was only to be held for two meetings and the board was going to flip a coin to make the decision of who was going to be appointed.

Being a write-in candidate, I felt I was the longshot in the election so it would be in the best interest of the School Board to appoint the individual that would most likely win the General Election (Mr. Fassler). In this way there would be the least amount of musical chairs and preserve continuity on the School Board. This was my reasoning on why I made my decision.

Let me be perfectly clear, I did not withdraw my name from the General Election. I had every intention of serving the Foster District if I had been elected for the four-year term permanent position. I would also like to offer my congratulations to Mr. Fassler. I know he will serve the Foster District very well. I again thank my family and friends for all of your support. I greatly appreciated it. Thank you.
