On Tuesday evening, Nov. 23, the Sweet Home Elks Lodge served the public a free Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.
I would like to personally thank all of the volunteers at the Elks and all of the donors that made this event possible. In spite of the inclement weather, we were able to serve nearly 140 meals.
I would especially like to thank the City of Sweet Home Employees and our City Manager Craig Martin for the great job they did in making sure our streets were safe and driveable.
Because of their efforts, the steep drive up to the Elks Lodge was negotiable to even the most timid driver or pedestrian.
Thanks to the city, our Thanksgiving Dinner was a great success.
