The Sweet Home Planning Commission is seeking nominations for the 2015 Community Quality Development Awards.
The purpose of the Community Quality Development Awards is to recognize individuals, businesses and organizations who have contributed significantly to improving the environment, physical appearance of buildings or open space within the city limits.
This award honors efforts to address beautification, livability and creation of a sense of place, whether on a street or in a public space or neighborhood.
The following are the nomination criteria:
n Construction/renovation completed in 2015;
n Beautification: a new, renovated, remodeled residence or commercial building, surrounding building or landscape improvements, that enhances or improves aesthetics and presentation of the property or adds to neighborhood appearance;
n Sustainable building: A new, renovated, remodeled residence or commercial building that exhibits exemplary sustainability features in design and/or construction including landscape aesthetics and presentation of property;
n Individual/group initiates, contributes to economic development in Sweet Home;
n Has historical significance to Sweet Home;
n Project must be inside city limits;
Nominations must be submitted by Nov. 15, 2015.
