Thelma Schilling

Thelma “Irene” Schilling, 77, of Sweet Home, died Sept. 30, 2011. She was surrounded by her family in the days preceding her death and died in the comfort of her home.

She was born Aug. 22, 1934 in Larned, Kan. to Sidney Christopher and Iva Lorene (Williams) Hilliard.

She lived in Bluejacket, Okla. before moving to Sweet Home in 1958. She married Victor Schilling in 1961.

In 1979, they moved to Fort Bragg, Calif. where she lived with her family for 16 years before moving back to Sweet Home.

Mrs. Schilling was a devout Southern Baptist who was loving and committed to her family, making sure they all knew the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Victor; daughters Linda and son-in-law Willie Duran, Sidney and son-in-law Brad Marks, and Vicky Arreguin; son Darrell and daughter-in-law Marion, all of Sweet Home; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schilling was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Hilliard; and sister, Margaret Foust.

A viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Sweet Home. Burial will take place at Liberty Cemetery.
