There’s more to quarry story

Editor:

In response to Mrs. Brubaker’s Feb. 14 letter about the Weber quarry, don’t you think “we have rights too” (stirring up the neighbors)? I think not.

How else can we gather up information about our wells and damages, which the commissioners ask for? We don’t live in the dark, like mushrooms, to which you feed manure.

You live across the river by another pit. I seem to remember your neighbors complaining about that pit and you writing something about chickens not lying.

You’re not living in a declared geological slide area. We are.

The meetings are on tape.

At the Planning Department meeting, you got 48 minutes. We only got 22 minutes. You got to rebut, and we didn’t. It’s on tape.

At the commissioner meeting, you got 21 minutes. We got 21 minutes. You got to rebut, but your lawyer burned up all your time. It’s on tape.

I could go on, but that’s not the point. You should do a better study. Maybe we all should do a better study. Our emotions shouldn’t take control and do something rash.

Oh, did I mention Mrs. Brubaker is Cal Emmert’s sister? God, bless her heart.
