Three Sweet Home City Council seats, as well as the mayor’s position, will be filled in this year’s Nov. 3 election.
Sweet Home voters will elect three city councilors to four-year terms and the mayor to a two-year term in this election. The following four city councilor terms expire on Dec. 31:
- Chelsea Augsburger
- Susan Coleman (current mayor)
- Dylan Richards
- Josh Thorstad
Sweet Home voters, in the May 2025 election, voted to change the city charter to elect their mayor directly, rather than by a vote of the City Council, as had been the case for decades.
The filing period for all candidates began July 27. For those not currently members of the City Council, the filing period runs through 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.
For incumbent councilors, the filing period closes at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 24.
