Timothy Bagley

Timothy Lee Bagley, 69, of Sweet Home died Sept. 15, 2006.

He was born on Mother’s Day, May 9, 1937 in Astoria to Vernon and Laurinda Bagley. He attended Knappa grade and high school, graduating in 1957. He attended OSU for two years. He married Betty Daniels in Sweet Home on Aug. 10, 1957.

Mr. Bagley worked in forestry industry all of his life. He worked with his father in the Astoria area at Bagley and Sons Logging Co. until 1966. He then took a position as contract supervisor with Publisher’s Paper Co. in Eagle Creek until 1971. His next employer was Caffall Bros. Forest Products as logging manager of its operations in Estacada.

In 1978 Mr. Bagley and his wife started their own logging and road construction company called Bagley Enterprises, Inc. In 1982 he partnered with Cal Emmert and Rod Wolfer in WEBCO Road Construction in Sweet Home until 1989. He continued with the WEBCO name and he and his daughter Sharon worked together until December 2005 when he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Bagley; son, Gary Bagley of Estacada; daughters, Brenda Melum of Wilsonville, Luanne and Sharon Bagley of Sweet Home; his father and step-mother, Vernon and Beth Bagley of Newberg; brother, Dan and wife Carolyn Bagley of Estacada; two grandchildren; six adopted grandchildren; and many other close relatives.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brownsville Baptist Church Building Fund or Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.
