Timothy James Higholt, 38, of Sweet Home, died May 6, 2023.
He was born Aug. 24, 1984, in Manteca, Calif., the son of Barbara (Hagerty) Nix and Myron Higholt. He moved to Oregon in 1993.
Mr. Higholt served in the Navy from Oct. 1, 2002 to Sept. 30, 2007. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Battle “E” Ribbon.
After his time in the Navy he lived in San Francisco. Mr. Higholt was a disabled veteran. He was a jack of all trades and worked in flooring. He enjoyed drawing and art, gardening, croquet, hiking, traveling, camping, archery, barbecuing, playing records and spending time with his family.
Mr. Higholt is survived by his daughter, Holly Higholt of Corvallis; parents Barbara and Bruce Nix of Foster; brothers Brandon Higholt of Crawfordsville and Craig Nix of Sweet Home; sisters Ami Nix of St. Ed, Neb., Chantell Nix-Bolte of Norfolk, Va., and Erica Higholt of Olympia, Wash.; many nieces, nephew and extended family.
He was preceded in death by father, Myron Higholt, in 2005.
A funeral service was held May 17 at River of Life Fellowship, with final burial, with military honors, following at Gilliland Cemetery.
