Lebanon and Sweet Home area residents don’t have to wait much longer for the popular “To Our Health” summer concert series, which will begin the evening of July 10 and continue for three more Tuesday evenings at Ralston Park.
The annual concerts are gifts to the community from Lebanon Community Hospital, the City of Lebanon ad the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce.
Each performance is free, open to everyone and scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Park and Maple streets in Lebanon. Food vendors will open their on-site booths at 6 p.m., so concert-goers can incorporate a picnic supper with their evening fun.
Opening this year’s series July 10 is the Linn-Benton Concert Band, a 50-piece group that blends local talent and worldly expertise.
July 17, the Jake Blair Band will present arrangements of popular blues standards. Local audiences will be proud to welcome one of their own, Lebanon High School’s Jacob Blair and his McMinnville friend Matt Seymour to the outdoor stage.
The Heartland Big Band will entertain the audience on July 24. Led by Mike Bevington of Albany, the 17-piece band will reprise the swing music of the mid-century. For some, the music will bring back cherished memories, for others it will evoke a longing for the swing dancing now regaining popularity nationwide.
The Bush Pilots will bring the concert series to a memorable close on July 31. This talented trio presents bluegrass in a special personal style. They call it newgrass, jazzgrass and bluegrass with a twist.
