Kristen Tolle led the Sweet Home Forestry Club with Overall Jill and Technical Forester honors Saturday, April 28, at the Sabin/Shellenburg Center Skills Camp competition.
“We took 18 students and everyone placed in at least one area of competition,” said club Advisor Dustin Nichol. “I was proud of how they competed. Many of the members competed in events that they normally don’t compete in.”

Dustin Nichol said the club is preparing for the state competition, to be held this Friday and Saturday at Oregon State University’s Arboretum, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The club placed second last year and Nichol said the potential is there to do as well or better.
“We have an opportunity to place very high in state this year,” he said. “We need to bring our A game and we could be in the money.”
