Tommy Holley

Tommy Joe Holley, 76, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 2, 2022, following an extended battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 11, 1946, in Wright City, Okla., to James R. Holley and Dimple (Quinn) Holley. He came to Sweet Home as a young child when his family moved here in 1951. He lived in Sweet Home for the rest of his life.

Mr. Holley was a logger who loved the woods and worked as a timber faller for many years until an accident in the woods caused his early retirement more than 20 years ago. He was a past exalted ruler of the Sweet Home Elks Lodge #1972, and did extensive volunteer work at the local VFW chapter in Sweet Home where his father James, a World War II-era veteran, had been a member.

Mr. Holley is survived by his sons, Chance of Sweet Home, and Ryan of Albany; daughter Debbie of Springfield; brother David of Sweet Home; and sister Betty of Aloha.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bill; sister Shirley; and sons Steven and infant Eric.

At Mr. Holley’s request, no services will be held.
