Too much marijuana

A Sheriff’s deputy responding to a home at 52833 Santiam Hwy., Sweet Home, to serve civil paperwork on July 9, noticed numerous mature marijuana plants growing next to the residence in planter pots and in the ground, Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller said. The plants ranged in height from 12 to 53 inches in height. The property owner, Bill Clarkson, holds an Oregon Medical Marijuana Card, but was out of compliance with state laws governing the amount of plants he was allowed to have at a time, Mueller said. The Sheriff’s Office pulled and seized 40 mature marijuana plants. Clarkson, 48, was cited and released for manufacturing a controlled substance €“ marijuana, Mueller said.
