The Summer Storm, a 12 and under tournament team from Sweet Home, won the SIlver Bracket Championship June 21-22 in Newberg. The local girls played in the 12U B/C Division. On Saturday in pool play they finished 1-1, beating the Lincoln City Hurricanes 10-2 and losing 11-4 to the Eugene Flame Throwers. On Sunday, they went 2-0 in the championship bracket, beating the Vancouver Stingers 5-2 in the semifinals and then blowing out the Yamhill Tigers 12-3 in the final.
